Head & Neck Cancer Foundation The Georgia chapter of the Yul Brynner Head and Neck Cancer Foundation (YBF) was established in 2006 (committee officers). Our non-profit chapter has grown exponentially since its birth. Support through volunteers and donations have given us the ability to reach further with our efforts toward education, awareness, and research against all cancers affecting the head & neck. We enlist your support in such endeavors. Our mission: Raise statewide awareness about all types of head and neck cancers
Organize statewide support for the Oral Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week (OHANCAW), April 21-27th, 2008.
Promote of the key goals of the Yul Brynner Head and Neck Cancer Foundation, including the promotion tobacco awareness, head and neck cancer education and research to both children and adults across the state of Georgia.
The Georgia chapter of YBF completed its third annual free head and neck cancer screening in October of 2007 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. This proved to be another success and over 200 NASCAR fans were screened. Because of the positive response and success of our awareness campaign, the Georgia YBF chapter will continue to have such screenings in the future. We are recruiting the help of physicians' offices and hospitals statewide for support and sponsorship of the 2008 annual Oral Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week (OHANCAW) events. These events will be held during the week of April 21-27th, 2008. Many ENT physicians, oral surgeons, and dentists will be offering statewide free public screenings during this week in April. The week will end with the head and neck survivor's banquet, annually held Thursday, April 24th. You can email us for more information on these events.
